Deepen Your Yoga Practice..

We are delighted that Anne Van Valkenberg is coming back for a weekend of yoga workshops-

About Anne..

Anne’s journey with yoga began in Los Angeles over twenty-five years ago, sparked by curiosity and a love of movement. What started as a personal passion quickly evolved into a professional and personal lifelong pursuit. Over the past 22 years, she has taught in diverse settings, including public classes and workshops, private in-home sessions, destination retreats, and as a lead trainer for the YogaWorks 200-hour and 500-hour Instructor Certifications.

Now based in Hawaii, Anne has created her online yoga platform, offering live online and on-demand classes, private sessions, and immersive workshops and retreats. At the core of her teaching is a breath- and alignment-based vinyasa practice with thoughtfully themed sequences that tell a story. She loves anatomy and enjoys breaking down postures as a meditative practice, often challenging students to slow down and deepen their awareness. Prioritizing safety, she encourages modifications and reminds students to meet themselves where they are.

Anne’s teaching is clear, grounding, energizing, and lighthearted—she believes in taking the practice seriously while embracing joy and playfulness. Passionate about the philosophy of yoga, she integrates meaningful principles and mind-inspiring insights into her classes in a practical, accessible way. Through her teaching, she hopes to inspire and empower students with the tools and wisdom of yoga, fostering a lifelong journey of self-discovery.

Saturday, April 5 10:00-12:30 PM

Hip Harmony: Moving from the Greater Trochanter

Explore strength, mobility, and fluid movement in and around the hips. In this class, we will dive into the key area of the greater trochanter, the bony prominence of the femur, which plays a pivotal role in how we move through the hips and pelvis. Highlight the movement from the greater trochanter to improve hip strength and mobility, fostering better alignment and fluid movement in all directions. We will play with external and neutral rotations within the hip socket, especially in standing poses, to build stability and mobility in the hip joints while promoting awareness of the pelvic region. Discover how to balance strength with flexibility, helping you find ease in movement while supporting long-term hip health.

Saturday, April 5 1:30-4:00 PM

Strong Back, Soft Heart: Cultivating Strength and Openness in Your Spine

Cultivate the balance between strength and softness, allowing you to feel empowered in your back and heart. Engage and activate key muscle groups along the posterior chain, the interconnected muscles that support the spine and help maintain posture. This class will include poses that engage the entire posterior chain, build core stability, improve postural awareness and alignment, encourage functional strength, support a healthy spine, and help your respiratory system.

Sunday, April 6 10:00-12:30 PM

Healthy Spine, Happy Life: A Yoga Workshop for Spinal Strength & Mobility

Your spine is your central support system—when it moves well, you feel strong, mobile, and at ease in your body. We will explore the five primary movements of the spine—flexion, extension, lengthening, rotation, and lateral flexion—to create a balanced, healthy back that supports you in daily life. A special focus will be placed on twisting postures, which provide a unique combination of strength, flexibility, mobility, and breath. Boost your posture, circulation, and breath capacity, reduce tension, and improve digestion and spinal hydration. Move your spine safely and effectively through its full range of motion.

Sunday, April 6 1:30-4:00 PM

Root & Restore: Grounding Your Practice, Renewing Your Spirit

Slow down. Breathe. Settle into stillness. This deep grounding workshop will include a nourishing blend of seated postures and restorative poses to calm the nervous system, release tension, and invite deep rest. You’ll cultivate a sense of stability, ease, and renewal through intentional movement, mindful breath, and supported relaxation—both on and off the mat. Pause. Rest. Renew. Rejuvenate
