THE SPACE
An Seomra Yoga is a comfortable and relaxed yoga studio with hardwood floors and large natural light windows in the heart of Galway's West End in Galway City. It offers the widest range of Yoga styles in town from experienced teachers. Classes include Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Pregnancy Yoga, Gentle Yoga, Yin Yoga, and Children's Yoga in addition to Pilates, Partner Yoga and Thai Yoga Massage. We also offer specialized therapeutic group classes at the studio and yoga classes ‘on location’ for our Corporate and Group clients. We are equipped with a full selection of props and mats for those who don’t yet have their own. Class sizes are kept small to maximize individual attention. Situated on Small Crane Square, just off of Sea Road, it's an easy walk from any town location and has parking directly outside.
 
 
THE YOGA
Yoga is about taking care of yourself. It is simply a tool to help us lead a healthier, more fulfilled and content life. Our idea is that yoga is for everyday life. It can be challenging but should never be laboured or painful. Each student works to their own level. It should be simple but stimulating.
 
The key is to find the correct yoga method for you. Something that resonates with you, that leaves you feeling good, both physically and mentally. The beauty of this tool of yoga is that while one of its primary goals is this deep sense of wellbeing, some of the byproducts include strength, tone, vitality, flexibility, relief from many aches and pains, a greater ability to deal with stress and a sense of grace and calm throughout your day.
While some fundamentals of yoga can be found more and more in sports, yoga includes specific elements such as:
*    stretching which relieves tension,
*    twists which help spinal rejuvenation; aid digestion and help to detoxify the body;
*    inversions which aid the lymphatic system
*    balance and regulated breathing which calm the nervous system and
*    heart openers which invigorate the adrenal system and strengthen the back muscles.
Regular practice balances all the systems of the body, activating and toning the muscle, bones and organs. It corrects posture, restores energy and stamina, clears the body of toxins and soothes and calms the mind.
 
Yoga has been part of our lives since 1994. We have practiced, studied but mainly enjoyed yoga with many teachers over this time and undertaken formal training with Yoga Works, Max Strom and Jamie Elmer, all in California, Green Lotus Yoga, Rainbow Kids Yoga-New York, SriVatsa Ramaswami-England, Sunshine House Thai Massage-Greece, and Yoga Therapy Ireland.
